Step into a world where your imagination drives the adventure! This one-hour session is designed for new and curious players who want to learn what makes Dungeons & Dragons so much more than just rolling dice. We’ll explore how storytelling, roleplaying, and collaboration bring the game to life, whether you’re adventuring in a single one-shot session or diving into an epic, yearlong campaign. We’ll introduce you to the core rules, concepts, and tools you’ll need to get started. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and a sense of adventure!

Workshop 2: Discover Dungeons & Dragons — Running Your First Game

Ever wondered what it takes to guide heroes through danger, mystery, and discovery? This workshop is an introduction to the art of being a Dungeon Master, the person who runs the game. In one hour, we’ll explore how to craft engaging stories, build immersive worlds, and manage the flow of the game without getting lost in the rulebooks. You’ll learn about balancing homebrewed adventures with published modules, adapting to your players’ choices, and shaping unforgettable moments at the table. Whether you want to run your first one-shot or kick off a longer campaign, this session will introduce you to the skills needed to bring your own D&D worlds to life.

Dungeons & Dragons


Where imagination meets strategy, storytelling, and teamwork! Step into a world of fantasy, creativity, and collaboration with our new weekly Dungeons & Dragons night at the Blaine Community Center! This program invites middle and high school age students to explore the legendary tabletop role-playing game that has captivated players for generations.

Program Highlights:
  • Creative Storytelling: build characters, craft back stories, and navigate epic quests in a shared fantasy world.
  • Critical Thinking & Strategy: Through game play, students will develop problem-solving skills, learn to think on their feet, and make strategic decisions.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Players must work together to overcome challenges, negotiate outcomes, and support each other’s ideas.
  • Writing & Worldbuilding: Opportunities to write adventures, design maps, and create original content.
  • Roleplay & Performance: Encourages self-expression and confidence through character acting and improvisation.
No experience necessary! Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or brand new to the game, all are welcome. Dice, character sheets, and materials will be provided.
