Pilates is a system of repetitive exercises performed on a yoga mat or other equipment to promote strength, stability, and flexibility. Pilates exercises develop the body through muscular effort that stems from the core.Pilates targets the "powerhouse" muscles, which include the glutes, hips, pelvic floor, and lower back. Similar to yoga, the Pilates Method encourages deep, conscious breathing.

We invite you to join us for programs geared towards yoga and wellness.Functional Mobility (Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:00 a.m. in Birch Bay)Build long-lasting improvements in range of motion and flexibility with a combination of soft tissue and mobility work. A valuable addition to your fitness routine regardless of age and ability. Mondays and Wednesdays, at 7 a.m.Location: Birch Bay Activity CenterGentle Yoga with Mika (Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. in Blaine) :Gentle Yoga will increase flexibility, strength, improve balance, and enhance well-being. Moving slowly through a variety of poses while focusing on the breath makes this class beneficial for all levels.   Gentle Yoga with Maureen (Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. in Blaine) : Spend an hour flowing in various Yoga poses that bring balance to that field, breath work than enhances the process and ending in a short meditation.Restorative Stretch with Jenn (Tuesdays at 1:45 p.m. and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. in Birch Bay) : A gentle and therapeutic class appropriate for anyone and everyone! This 45 minute class will relax tight muscles, decrease muscle soreness and reduce chronic pain. In addition to physical benefits, Restorative Stretch also serves to improve mood, enhance well-being and reduces stress and anxiety. Take the time for yourself to experience this class- you’ll be glad you did!Yoga with Jenn (Thursdays at 6 p.m. in Birch Bay) : This class is a one hour class designed to increase flexibility, mobility, and strength while improving balance. 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM    Teen Programs - Teen Strength Training Fitness Camp - SPRING 2024
We are excited to offer several new programs for teens! From our Teen Strength Trainings to Board Game Nights, and more, we thrive to bring diverse activities for our teen population.The Teen Strength Training Camp with Coach Kyle Long is back for a new session for six weeks starting April 8, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until May 17. This 6-week course is designed to introduce youths to the primary concepts of strength programming, with an emphasis on teaching proper gym etiquette, movement technique and methods of progressing a strength training program over time. We believe strongly that educating participants at a young age on both the benefits and the proper implementation of strength training will encourage a lifetime of healthy movement as well as athletic development for sport.This is a great opportunity for anyone who participated in the fall program to continue building strength and movement as we transition toward spring!  Coach Kyle brings 17 years of coaching experience to the course as well as 15 years of experience as both a professional soccer player and ultra-runner. He specializes in building strength training programs for individuals of all ages and abilities and is excited to bring this program to BBBPRD2!Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Birch Bay Activity Center. $60 for all six weeks, three times a week.Registration is necessary. Participants will be guided through a range of exercises and movements that have been adapted to suit their individual needs, ensuring that everyone is able to participate and experience the benefits of exercise. We believe that fitness should be accessible to all, and we are excited to offer this new program as part of our commitment to inclusivity and diversity. We are excited to offer several new programs for teens! From our Teen Strength Trainings to Board Game Nights, and more, we thrive to bring diverse activities for our teen population.The Teen Strength Training Camp with Coach Kyle Long is back for a new session for six weeks starting April 8, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until May 17. This 6-week course is designed to introduce youths to the primary concepts of strength programming, with an emphasis on teaching proper gym etiquette, movement technique and methods of progressing a strength training program over time. We believe strongly that educating participants at a young age on both the benefits and the proper implementation of strength training will encourage a lifetime of healthy movement as well as athletic development for sport.This is a great opportunity for anyone who participated in the fall program to continue building strength and movement as we transition toward spring!  Coach Kyle brings 17 years of coaching experience to the course as well as 15 years of experience as both a professional soccer player and ultra-runner. He specializes in building strength training programs for individuals of all ages and abilities and is excited to bring this program to BBBPRD2!Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Birch Bay Activity Center. $60 for all six weeks, three times a week.Registration is necessary. We are excited to offer several new programs for teens! From our Teen Strength Trainings to Board Game Nights, and more, we thrive to bring diverse activities for our teen population.The Teen Strength Training Camp with Coach Kyle Long is back for a new session for six weeks starting April 8, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until May 17. This 6-week course is designed to introduce youths to the primary concepts of strength programming, with an emphasis on teaching proper gym etiquette, movement technique and methods of progressing a strength training program over time. We believe strongly that educating participants at a young age on both the benefits and the proper implementation of strength training will encourage a lifetime of healthy movement as well as athletic development for sport.This is a great opportunity for anyone who participated in the fall program to continue building strength and movement as we transition toward spring!  Coach Kyle brings 17 years of coaching experience to the course as well as 15 years of experience as both a professional soccer player and ultra-runner. He specializes in building strength training programs for individuals of all ages and abilities and is excited to bring this program to BBBPRD2!Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Birch Bay Activity Center. $60 for all six weeks, three times a week.Registration is necessary. We are excited to offer several new programs for teens! From our Teen Strength Trainings to Board Game Nights, and more, we thrive to bring diverse activities for our teen population.The Teen Strength Training Camp with Coach Kyle Long is back for a new session for six weeks starting April 8, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until May 17. This 6-week course is designed to introduce youths to the primary concepts of strength programming, with an emphasis on teaching proper gym etiquette, movement technique and methods of progressing a strength training program over time. We believe strongly that educating participants at a young age on both the benefits and the proper implementation of strength training will encourage a lifetime of healthy movement as well as athletic development for sport.This is a great opportunity for anyone who participated in the fall program to continue building strength and movement as we transition toward spring!  Coach Kyle brings 17 years of coaching experience to the course as well as 15 years of experience as both a professional soccer player and ultra-runner. He specializes in building strength training programs for individuals of all ages and abilities and is excited to bring this program to BBBPRD2!Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Birch Bay Activity Center. $60 for all six weeks, three times a week.Registration is necessary. Pilates is a system of repetitive exercises performed on a yoga mat or other equipment to promote strength, stability, and flexibility. Pilates exercises develop the body through muscular effort that stems from the core.Pilates targets the "powerhouse" muscles, which include the glutes, hips, pelvic floor, and lower back. Similar to yoga, the Pilates Method encourages deep, conscious breathing.

Here you will find activities for kids! Everything from sports clinics to fun parties.Nerf Party: Bring your Nerf Guns and we'll provide the ammunition and pads to make forts for protection. Create teams or stand as an individual against everyone in this fun two hour Nerf War! Youth Rugby Clinics! We’re excited to announce two new youth rugby clinics! These 3-hour clinics will be held on June 1st for Kids K-4th and June 15 for kids 5th-12th. They will be led by Coach Chris Rowell and Coach Abbi Triou. The clinic will cover a variety of skill drills and games to dive into the world of rugby in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. Join us for an exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and have a blast in the gym and learn the ropes of this epic sport. Kids of all ability levels are invited to join us, even if they have never played rugby before, for this educational and fun afternoon of rugby! About our coaches: Chris Rowell has been coaching rugby for over 20 years. Born and raised in Bellingham he started his rugby journey at the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club. A recent graduate of the Master's in Sport Coaching program at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales, he will return to Cardiff in September to begin the Sports Coaching Doctoral program. In the meantime Chris will be traveling to Ireland this summer to aid in coaching the Eagles Impact Rugby Academy's u18 girls USA pathway team as they play each of the four Irish provinces. Finally, Chris's rugby coaching experience includes u14 to u19 at the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club, Washington and Oregon All-Star programs, and the Western Washington University Women's team. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and love of the game with the Birch Bay community.Abbi Triou has been coaching rugby for about two years now. She found her love for the sport as an undergrad at Western Washington University and is currently finishing her last year with the team as she completes her Masters in Teaching this spring. Abbi is also a part of the Chuckanut Bay Mussels Womens+ team for the past year and will continue to play with them after she graduates. She has helped out with Girls Rugby Inc, both as a coach and referee since 2021. Abbi has also worked closely with Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club to found a high school girls rugby club for the community, which will pick back up in late May this year. She is very excited to be working and expanding this amazing sport to everyone in the Birch Bay community.    Color Crazy: Tie-dye and more!Join us for a vibrant and creative experience where kids aged 6-15 can unleash their artistic talents through tie-dye, rock art, and chalk art all in one exciting activity!
